Wireless Keyboard Sniffing
Wireless keyboard sniffing refers to the act of intercepting or capturing keystrokes (i.e. the letters, numbers, or symbols typed on a keyboard) sent wirelessly from a keyboard to its receiver. This can be done using special tools, software, or devices that hackers or attackers use to capture the sensitive information that people type on their keyboards.
This can be a serious problem because wireless keyboards don’t encrypt (i.e. scramble) the keystrokes they send, which means that malicious actors can easily interpret and read them. This enables hackers to steal sensitive information, such as passwords, credit card numbers, and personal data.
To protect yourself from wireless keyboard sniffing, you should always use updated anti-malware software, choose complex and unique passwords, avoid using public Wi-Fi networks, and use wired keyboards instead of wireless ones whenever possible.
