Wiper-Attacke
A “wiper attack” is a type of cyber attack where a malicious actor tries to wipe or delete all of the data on a computer or server. It’s like a digital version of setting a building on fire and destroying everything inside.
The attacker often gains access to the system through a vulnerability or by using credentials that they have stolen. They then use their access to execute a program or command that makes the system delete or overwrite all of the data on the machine’s hard drive or storage devices. To prevent a wiper attack, it’s important to maintain strong cybersecurity hygiene, such as keeping software up to date and using strong passwords. It’s also a good idea to have a backup system in place, so that if your primary system is wiped, you still have a copy of your important data.
