WebRTC Leak

A WebRTC leak occurs when a website uses the WebRTC API to directly access your computer’s IP address without your knowledge or consent. This can happen even if you use a VPN or other privacy tools.

WebRTC is a technology that allows web browsers to communicate directly with each other rather than through a server. This can improve the speed and quality of video and voice chats, but it can also inadvertently reveal your IP address.

If a website is designed to exploit this vulnerability, it can use WebRTC to bypass your VPN and reveal your true IP address. This can compromise your privacy by revealing your location, which websites you visit, and other sensitive information.

To protect against WebRTC leaks, you can disable WebRTC in your browser settings or use a browser extension that blocks WebRTC requests. Additionally, you can use a VPN that includes WebRTC leak protection as a feature.
