URL-Hijacking (Typosquatting)

URL hijacking, also known as typosquatting, is when someone intentionally registers a domain name that is very similar to a popular website in order to take advantage of people’s typing errors. For example, a common typosquatting tactic is to register a domain name like “googgle.com” instead of “google.com.”

The goal is to trick people into thinking they are visiting the real website, when in fact they are on a fake website that could potentially infect their computer with malware or steal personal information.

This is a dangerous practice that users should be aware of, and it is why it’s important to always double-check the URL before entering any personal or sensitive information.
