Rainbow Table Attack

A Rainbow Table Attack is a type of cyber attack used by hackers to crack passwords. Basically, instead of guessing a password, the attacker uses a precomputed table of hash values (which are one-way encrypted versions of passwords) and their corresponding passwords.

With a rainbow table, the attacker can look up the hash value of a password they want to crack and quickly find the corresponding password. This can be much faster than a traditional brute force attack, which involves guessing passwords one by one until the correct one is found.

To protect against Rainbow Table Attacks, it is important to use strong passwords that are difficult to guess and to use good password hashing methods that cannot be attacked using rainbow tables.
