Pharming Attack

A “Pharming Attack” is when bad people try to trick your computer so that it goes to the wrong website without you knowing it. They do this by secretly changing things in your computer, like your internet settings.

Here’s an example: Let’s say you want to go to a website that’s called “funwebsite.com.” But the bad people have changed your computer so that when you type in “funwebsite.com,” your computer takes you to a different website that looks the same, but it’s actually a fake website. This fake website might try to steal your private information, like your passwords or credit card numbers.

So, it’s really important to be careful when you’re going to different websites, especially if you’re typing in private information. Make sure you’re going to the right website by checking the address bar at the top of your screen, and if you’re not sure, ask an adult for help.
