Penetration Testing

Penetration testing, also called pen testing for short, is like playing a game of pretend to see if a computer system is secure. It’s a way for people who work with computers to test how easy or hard it is for someone else to break into a system, like a hacker might try to do.

First, the tester or team of testers pretend to be a hacker and try to find vulnerabilities or weaknesses in a system’s security. They use some of the same tools and techniques that real hackers might use. This could include trying to guess passwords, tricking people into giving up sensitive information, or exploiting software bugs to gain access.

The goal of the testing is to identify any potential security holes so that they can be fixed before a real hacker exploits them. This helps keep a company or organization’s information and technology safe from cyber attacks.

In short, penetration testing is a way to make sure everything is safe and secure in the computer world.
