Inference Attack

An inference attack is when somebody uses information they have to guess other information they don’t know. In computer science, this can happen when someone figures out information about a person or system by looking at the information that’s available.

For example, if someone knows that you always post photos of your location on social media at a certain time, they might guess where you are when you don’t post anything. Or if someone can see that a certain file was accessed at a certain time, they might guess what you were working on.

The danger of inference attacks is that they can reveal private or sensitive information that you might not want other people to know. To protect against inference attacks, it’s important to be careful about what information you share and who you share it with, and to use security measures like encryption and strong passwords.
