DNS Reflection Attack
A DNS reflection attack is a type of cyber attack. In this attack, the attacker sends lots of requests to lots of DNS servers, pretending to be the victim. When the DNS servers responds, they send the response back to the victim’s computer, flooding it with too much traffic. This can make the victim’s computer slow down or stop working altogether.
Imagine you and your friends are playing a game of telephone, where one person whispers a message to the next person, and it goes around the circle. If a mean person came and whispered a lot of messages to each person, pretending to be you, and they all shout the message back to you at once, it would be confusing and overwhelming. That’s kind of what a DNS reflection attack does to a computer.
