CEO Fraud

“CEO Fraud” is a kind of scam that involves tricking people into sending money or sensitive information by pretending to be someone in a position of authority at a company, like a CEO or other high-ranking executive. The scammer will often send an email that appears to be from the CEO, using a fake email address or one that looks very similar to the real one. The email will usually request that the recipient transfer money, buy gift cards, or hand over important financial information, like bank account numbers or login credentials. The email might also try to create a sense of urgency or fear, to make the recipient think that they must act quickly to prevent some kind of disaster. It’s important to be very careful when dealing with emails like this, and always double-check with the person who is supposedly sending the email before taking any action.
